Faculties and educational programmes.

Foreign citizens study with Russian students and have got an opportunity to get higher education according to the main educational programmes of three levels:

  • Specialist (Sp.)  –  5 years (full-time); 6 years (by correspondence); this is a traditional Russian qualification which is realized throughout all the faculties.

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA)  –  4 years (full-time); 5 years (by correspondence)

  • Master of Arts (MA)  –  2 years (full time).

Most faculties provide receiving of Bachelor and Master Degrees.

Post graduate education is realized according to two levels:

  • Candidate of Science (PhD)  –  3 years (full-time); 4 years (by correspondence);

  • Doctor of Science (D.Sc.)  –  2 years (special requirements).

A foreign citizen can also have an internship studies during the period of 2 weeks to 1 year.

2. Geography

(Qualification: Specialist)

  • ‘Geography’ with supplementary speciality ‘Foreign language’ (English);

  • ‘Geography’ with supplementary speciality ‘Foreign language’ (German);

  • ‘Geography’ with supplementary speciality ‘Foreign language’ (French).

3. Defectology

(Qualification: Specialist)

  • ‘Special preschool pedagogics and psychology’ with supplementary speciality ‘Speech therapy’;

  • ‘Speech therapy’ with supplementary speciality ‘Special psychology’;

  • ‘Special psychology’ with supplementary speciality ‘Oligophrenopedagogics’;

  • ‘Oligophrenopedagogics’ with supplementary speciality ‘Speech therapy’;

  • ‘Deaf-and-dumb pedagogy’ with supplementary speciality ‘Special psychology’;

  • ‘Deaf-and-dumb pedagogy’ with supplementary speciality ‘Special psychology’ (for hearing impairment people);

  • ‘Special preschool pedagogics and psychology’.

4. Preschool pedagogics and psychology

(Qualification: Specialist, Bachelor, Master)

  • ‘Preschool pedagogics and psychology’ (secondary professional education required);

  • ‘Preschool pedagogics and psychology’ with supplementary speciality ‘Foreign language’ (English);

  • ‘Psychology’ with specialization ‘Developmental Psychology’;

  • ‘Pedagogics and methods of preschool education (secondary professional education required);

  • ‘Pedagogics and methods of preschool education’ with supplementary speciality ‘Musical education (secondary professional education required);

  • ‘Pedagogics’.

5. Foreign Languages

(Qualification: Specialist, Bachelor, Master)

  • Theory and methods of teaching of foreign languages and cultures (English, Spanish, German and French);

  • ‘Foreign languages’ (English, German and French);

  • ‘Translation and translation studies’ (English, German and French);

  • ‘Linguistics’ (English, Spanish, German and French).

6. History

(Qualification: Specialist)

  • ‘History’ (qualification: teacher of History);

  • ‘History’ with specialization ‘History of Russian Orthodox culture’;
